Gharda Institute of Technology is established with a view to give quality education at affordable cost and the college started functioning in 2007 under the leadership of Padma Shri Dr. Keki Gharda. The college has aligned itself with the development of Konkan region and has contributed significantly by giving affordable education to students from konkan region.
The unique features of the college include lush green environment with residential facility for staff and students in addition to state of the art infrastructural facility. The laboratories are equipped with latest equipment.
The unique feature of GIT lies in the best practices related to feeling of ownership by way of concept of “Area Adoption Programme” and Mentorship System. The mentorship system is characterised by combining the slow learners with extremely bright students to foster a different way of peer to peer learning. The engineering internship model has ensured industry centric learning amongst the students.
